Además de ofrecer un gran abanico de clases y workshops (ya desde 1994) Tango Argentino Amsterdam se propone invitar, varias veces al año, renombrados maestros de larga trayectoria para brindar workshops a precios accesibles.

PT1	technique and musicality for couples a.o. (reacting to) marking, change of weight and energy, proper embrace, cadencias milngueras	all levels	16:00 – 17:30

T2	tango de salón – estilo milonguero simple and complex figures for the small space to ritmic music	intermediate and higher	17:45 – 19:15

M3	milonga – lisa en traspie change in rythm, single and double tempo, traspies, giros; short introduction to candombe, root of milonga	intermediate and higher	19:30 – 21:00

SUNDAY 13 APRIL 2025

V4	tango waltz giros and contra giros, with and without sacadas or baridas, change in dynamic and direction	advanced and higher	15:00 – 16:30

T5	tango de salón – estilo Pugliese walkin with sacadas, giros, enrosques, pauses, dancing to the melody	extra advanced and higer	16:45 – 18:15

TC6	tango canyengue a must for a better tango understanding (and fun to do); history an evolution of the tango of the street: posture, rythm and cadence. Also a excelent base for milonga	intermediate and higher	18:30 – 20:00

Lessons	The content of the lessons changes every year.
Prices	Price workshop is € 25,- per person; second workshop and each following workshop is € 20,- per person; payment cash on the day.
Privat lessons	Take up contact for private lessons; price for one hour is € 80,- (3 lessons € 225,- \| 5 lessons € 350,-) Firpo is from 8 till 16 April in Amsterdam.

Maestro Jorge Firpo has been visiting Europe on regular base since 1997 to give workshops and performances, a.o. a number of times in the Netherlands with his former dance partner Aurora Lubiz. Every time he left behind enthusiastic students, like with us in Amsterdam since 2007.

Jorge dances tango from his childhood. In 1983 he chooses for a professional career as tango dancer and teacher. His most important teachers were Antonio Todaro and Pepito Avellaneda, with whom he worked for many years.

He is a renowned maestro in the world of tango of Argentina and runs his own school in Buenos Aires together with his partner Diana Mestre.

Firpo is known for his pure approach of the tango and its culture.
He teaches for many years with a lot of enthusiasm and to all levels: from beginners to professionals.
Firpo is renowned for his plesant and clear way of teaching. He masters all types of styles: tango de salón, tango fantasía, milonga, tango wals, canyengue, orillera; and is renowned for his musical interpretation of the various styles in the tango.
He also takes care of choreographies.

workshops Jorge Firpo - Tango Argentino Amsterdam He performed and contributed a.o. to the show ‘Romance de Bario’ of Milena Plebs, a show warmely welcomed by public and critics. He was for several years, together with Aurora Lubiz, artistic leader of the World Tango Festival in Buenos Aires.
